Hi Anamika, thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your work.
Anamika : It’s a pleasure to interact with such a nice group that is totally dedicated to women. Well, I would like to introduce myself as Anamika Mishra. I am an author, wisdom speaker and a blogger by profession.
My debut novel Too hard to handle was much loved and appreciated by people of all ages. This motivated me to share my thoughts and opinions on life, success and relationships through speaking sessions.
I love to share my travel experiences, my photography and lifestyle tips through my blog, which is read by people from all across the world.
Apart from writing, I love to travel and do photography.
What inspired you to get into this profession?
Anamika : I was bitten by a writing-bug, when I was in class 7th. While reading some classic and wonderful books by J. Spyri and C. Dickens, I told my mom that I also want to be a writer.
Time passed and when I reached to the final year of my MJMC, I decided to write a book and take my dreams to another level of reality.
And rest of the story is known to all.
What is your USP?
Anamika : My thoughts and perception towards life and relationships is my USP. In today’s era, people really need a good dose of motivation. Whether it is for work or personal life or relationships or lifestyle, they need someone to push them ahead and boost up their morale. I try to help people to live a better lifestyle and become a better person with calmness and positivity in them.
How someone can start the same business as yours in terms of investment, material procurement, production, and marketing etc?
Anamika : In order to become a writer or a blogger, you only need to expand the circle of your thoughts and perception. You need to see things the other way round. You need to think according to the perception of someone sitting in front of you. And of-course, you need to show the power of your words. You need to be able to write something that can inspire people and make them smile.
For starting a blog, you can register on any free blogging website like blogger.com, wordpress.com or weebly. It hardly costs anything, until you decide to purchase a custom domain name or hosting of your own.
Any challenge you are facing in your profession and how you overcome that?
Anamika : A writer faces challenges every day. Studying and analyzing the market trends, researching for what to write that will be read and loved by people etc. are such challenges that I come across almost every day.
Overcoming these challenges has now become a day-thing. The more hard and smart work you do, the more easier you will be able to overcome challenges that you face- this is what I believe.
What are your plans for the future?
Anamika : Presently, I am working on my fourth book. I would continue to be a novelist, speaker and blogger as I am seriously loving this profession of mine.
How you manage your personal and professional life?
Anamika : When I entered in this profession, it was really hard for me to manage personal and professional life. Reason being is, that I opted to work from home. And at home, you don’t get a proper working environment until you have a dedicated work-space, a room for work.
After 6 months, when my profession caught up a good pace, I turned my study-room cum library to my home office. Now, I work like all other professionals… During the day time, I write for the magazine and my blog, during the nights, I work on my books.
I can say that I have attained balance now!
What are your favorite books that you would recommend SIW family?
Anamika : I love reading English classic! So, I would suggest you to read David copper field, Heidi and hard times. I am certain that most your SIW family must have read these books, so I would suggest you to read ‘Like the flowing river’, ‘Brida’ and ‘Zoya’
What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?
Anamika : All I want to say is, be determined, have trust in your dreams and ability and work smartly… success will be yours!
