Thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.
Archana : I am fashion blogger, personal stylist & Image consultant trained in London. I am a graduate from Delhi and have also done well recognized beauty courses to add to my expertise. I belong to a humble family and happily married. Besides this I am a digital marketer with over 11 years of experience.
What makes your blog so unique and why should people read it?
Archana : The USP of my blog is that I understand and have learnt both Indian and Western Culture due to my roots and upbringing and my exposure to western world. You will see India’s culture reflecting in my experiments with fashion, but at the same time, living in London and my love for travelling have also added a new global dimension to it. So you would find the best of both worlds perfectly merged together. Another is that one can avail my styling services from any part of the world. I know many people in the UK who love Indian styling but are not confident enough to work around it, so now people from anywhere can have their own personal stylist who can assist them with such makeovers.
How often do you blog?
Archana : I try to blog atleast 2-3 times a week, sometimes more as well.
What do you find most challenging about blogging?
Archana : Biggest Challenge is managing work life balance. I have a young family and I try to make sure I spend quality time with them and not overdo work. I feel so passionate about my work that sometimes gets totally engrossed when working on my projects. Being a blogger demands a lot of time and initially it was a great challenge to overcome. Now I am more relaxed with my functioning and management. Also my husband’s support made it a lot easier for me.
Can we really make a living by Blogging? If yes, how we can do that?
Archana : In short the answer is yes, but the earning part doesn’t come easy, one has to make sure they are writing quality and unique content and answering to their reader’s needs. In time you will have a followership which will result in income from various sources.
What are your favorite books that you would recommend SIW family?
Archana : I love to read variety of books some of the ones I can recommend are
That Extra Half An Inch & The Little Black Book Of Style here is a link to a blog with my recommendations http://fashionforroyals.com/2015/10/three-fashion-books-every-girl-read/
What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?
Archana : My advice to women starting on their own is to be consistent and have faith. It’s easy to lose faith at the start but hard work always pays off in the long run. If you believe in yourself and the work you are doing, you will definitely succeed.
