Thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.
Jofy : I am Jofy Abraham, Software Engineer by profession & blogger by passion.
I am the writer, author, and photographer of my blog – Foodie Adam & Cookie Eve. I wanted to carry my man (the pillar of my life) everywhere and hence the blog title
Whether you are new or an experienced chef visiting my site, you will find a lot of authentic Indian recipes on my blog, with detailed flavor-boosting techniques. I write reviews as well. Besides recipes, I write about simple joys of life which brings a heart to heart connection with the readers.
What makes your blog so unique and why should people read it?
Jofy : Two reasons:-
1 – Readers find my blog unique for the simple inspirations packed with each post. I take a minute to ask God before starting a post and I write what my heart leads to. No flamboyant stuff yet the motivational word/tales with the recipe become “a right word at a right time” for at least a single reader, who happily testifies later.
2 – I host not only “from scratch recipes” of mine but also “tried, tested happy recipes” that I learn from experienced cooks whom I meet, with step by step pictures. Result – the dish turns out to be good no matter who re-creates it or how the mood is.
How often do you blog?
Jofy : At least once a week since I have a full time job.
Restaurant Reviews I write as per the Restaurant’s requirements.
Also Whenever I have an instinct to share something with my readers, I pen them down and share later in my blog.
What has been your most successful blog post to date and what was it about?
Jofy : Authentic Desi Chicken Curry/Naatu Kozhi Kuzhambu – the most viewed post. That is my Mother In Law’s famous chicken curry recipe which is almost 30 year old.
Spicy Kadai Paneer, Dhaba style for the writing and a no-fail restaurant recipe as testified by my dear readers.
What do you find most challenging about blogging?
Jofy : Blogging is a space for creativity, learning, photography & a passion to me.
Hence I do not find any challenges now.
Couple of early challenges could be,
1) Balancing between family and blogging.
2) Photography – Natural light that is required for the food pictures
However with a target set, a woman is strong enough to turn all her shortcomings to strengths, I believe.
What are some of your favorite author blogs and why?
Jofy : Vijetha of doughmydear.com for her appealing photographs and splash of words.
Victoria Osteen of Joel&Victoria’s blog for the immense inspiration she brings up as a woman.
What are your favorite books that you would recommend SIW family?
Jofy : Keep Your Love ON by Danny Lee Silk
The world is designed upon relationships. This book helps you build Powerful Relationships. A book that can transform your life and lives around you.
What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?
Jofy : If you have an interest/thought/passion, take a step out of faith. Humble beginnings are miracles in seed form. In the journey, keep your mind shut to any intimidation.
As long as you have breath, you have a purpose
Blogging brings out the best in you, you grow with the blog and the blog grows with you!!
