Thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.
Neetu : Although I am an engineer by profession, I have always had a flair for the more creative side of things….dancing, singing, extempore speeches…and definitely cooking! I started cooking only after marriage…and solely with the intention to survive! To find a blog that gives simple recipes for beginners was tough for me, which is why I started this space of mine. Through my blog, I would like to show the world that you can enjoy while you cook, rather than consider cooking a chore. So, take the time out to visit my space and am sure you’ll be back for more!
What makes your blog so unique and why should people read it?
Neetu : My blog is all about simple recipes that even children can do. Though I am an Indian, you can find even international recipes with an Indian touch to them! More importantly, you should visit my blog if you’re looking for a place to chat and have a good time. I love talking and am a great people’s person, and I believe I have achieved this though the way I present my recipes.
How often do you blog?
Neetu : At least once or twice a week, may be more.
What has been your most successful blog post to date and what was it about?
Neetu : A couple come to mind…I think one of my most popular recipes was the Roasted Lamb Chops with Tahini Sauce, the link for which is http://neetustastytreats.blogspot.ae/2014/08/roasted-lamb-chops-with-tahini-sauce.html.
What do you find most challenging about blogging?
Neetu : When doing a food blog, presentation is key. Many a time, I would have put in a lot of effort in preparing the food, but the response would not be great simply because I used a wrong dish or the lighting was poor.
What are some of your favorite author blogs and why?
Neetu : My all time favorite author, blogger and chef has to be Nigella Lawson. Someday I aim to have my own show like she does. She makes cooking seem so effortless and truly is a Domestic Goddess. i am also a big fan of Nagalakshmi and her blog, the Edible Garden.
What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?
Neetu : If you have a passion, follow it through. You will have plenty of road blocks and obstacles along the way, but failure is the stepping stone to success. Always be positive, because good things happen o those who have patience and a drive to reach heights!
