Nimmi Afzal Smart Indian Women

Thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW.  Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.

Nimmi : I am Nimmi Afzal.  I am a wife to a wonderful Husband and 3 year li’l cutie’s mom.  And of course daughter to caring parents!! I am a graduate In Computer Science and presently a home maker.  I loves to keep myself always engaged in creative activities like cooking, crafting, scrapbooking, glass painting, sewing and lot many more.  I started cooking from my school days and now here I stand with a yummy food blog, ADORABLE LIFE.

Big thanks to my hubby for all the support and encouragement!!

He never told “NO” to my dreams and wishes. ALWAYS THANKING GOD FOR HAVING HIM IN MY LIFE. Also we both are big “”FOODIE PEOPLE””!! The drooling pictures of the blog are been clicked by him.

What makes your blog so unique and why should people read it?

Nimmi : Eat, craft , travel ,love… in short live your life and enjoy!!- this is the motto of my blog and myself !!

Adorable life is that one space in the internet where you could find yummy recipes from all over the world with a step by step image preparation which would be a lot more helpful to new ones in kitchen or first time triers!!

As being an Indian/Keralite, my hometown recipes are also easily available in my blog.

It’s just 4. 5 months old and I could feel how much my readers loves it,every time my inbox is decor-ed with a new text from someone who tried some recipe and expressing the joy they felt while preparing the dish and enjoying with their loved ones.

How often do you blog?

Nimmi : I am a daily blogger !! From the beginning itself I have managed to post recipes in my blog on a regular basis without much gap. But now in this month (September 2014), I failed to post daily because of some personal issues.

It’s really sad to stay this away from my blog. Hope to post delicious recipes soon without much delay.

Ever since I started blogging, it has become a routine of my life.

What has been your most successful blog post to date and what was it about?

Nimmi : Momos and Red Chilly Dip-

Malabari Chicken Biryani-

http://nimmiafzal. com/2014/05/02/malabari-chicken-biryani-step-by-step-images/

These two are the most viewed and most talked recipe posts of my blog. Both are my favorite dishes to eat and prepare as well!!

The biryani recipe is authentic Malabari dish and MOMOS are straight from Nepal. two entirely different and delicious dishes from two different hemispheres.

What do you find most challenging about blogging?

Nimmi : Challenging!! As far as my blog is concerned, to get yummy pics out of your recipe!!It’s the hardest job for me and my hubby!! He’s my food photographer.  But he manages pretty well to fill my blog with drooling pics!! He’s Awesome!

There are times when he clicked more than 150 pics of the same recipe to satisfy my needs.

And the most difficult job is to choose that amazing 5-6 clicks form the whole bunch!! Sometimes I go mad thinking which one to pick!!

What are some of your favorite author blogs and why?

Nimmi : I love reading all my fellow bloggers.  Still here’s some whose blogs inspired me a lot.

Angie From The novice gardener, Selma from Selma’s table, Maureen abood from Rose water and orange blossoms etc.

What are your favorite books that you would recommend SIW family?

Nimmi : I loved reading Stayajith Ray’s The Complete adventures of Feluda !! See you Thursday by Jean Ure (a sweet story which i enjoyed so well during my teens).

Can we really make a living by Blogging? If yes, how we can do that?

Nimmi : On this topic I am not that sure to give a clear answer. Because I am a new blogger and I haven’t yet started earning from mine. but from many other successful bloggers i have learnt that “YES, YOU CAN REALLY MAKE A LIVING FROM YOUR BLOG”!! All you need is dedicating yourself to what you do and do with love and passion.

Most of the successful bloggers in the internet have left their job when they started earning enough from their blog so that they could give their full time to blogging. One thing to be noted is “Nothing would happen in overnight. It needs all our effort and patience”.

I think ad companies and product owners could help you well to monetize the blog.

What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?

Nimmi : Follow your dreams and never think It’s too late,.

I am living with my whole bunch of dreams and waiting for all of them to become real!
