Thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.

Nivedita : I am a Life Coach, blogger, an obsessive reader, a compulsive writer, observer and interpreter of life inside and everywhere. Writing & Yoga keeps me functional!

An inveterate wordoholic, I lap up words; play with expressions that explore the abstract; flirt with the esoteric that deep dive into layers of consciousness, meanings & interpretations. Observing life, people and their progress is my passion. This makes my living very much about how to give this gregarious mind some purpose! Coaching fuels this purpose with resource & meaningfulness.

Purpose also got imbued biologically into me once I became a mom, to (now) a feisty, delightful 7-year old, who questions all that I never questioned. I live with my husband (now in Singapore) who is the sampler of all that I manufacture—a rare species!

On most days I’m found on:

What makes your blog so unique and why should people read it?

Nivedita : My blog is a personal chronicle, an interplay of what for me is beautiful, unique and worth sharing. I have consciously stayed away from any form of commercialization and revenue opportunity from my blog – that can tend to put some pressure on the content.

How often do you blog?

Nivedita : Once or Twice a month.

What has been your most successful blog post to date and what was it about?

Nivedita : Home Tours of my friends’ homes, Trend spotting.

What do you find most challenging about blogging?

Nivedita : To find inspiration in the mundane, to give expression to it for the reader to feel the uniqueness of what I see.

What are some of your favorite author blogs and why?

Nivedita : An Indian Summer by Bhavna Bhatnagar

Rang Decor by Archana Saraf

Both are extremely well curated, very personal, non-commercial interior / lifestyle blogs that reflect the unique persona of their curator (blogger) in every blog post. Every post is a labor of love and many trigger a new idea for me as a reader. Inspiring, unique and very personal.

What are your favorite books that you would recommend SIW family?

Nivedita : Wuthering Heights,

Pride and Prejudice,

A stone for Danny Fischer,

To kill a Mocking bird,

The Catcher in the Rye,

Picture of Dorian Gray,

Pontipool changes everything,

Arms and the man,

A Thousand splendid suns,

Golden Gate,

Sea of Poppies,

A New Earth,

Outliers.

Can we really make a living by Blogging? If yes, how we can do that?

Nivedita : Absolutely. As known to all bloggers.

Beyond everything Content, Relevance and meaningful Innovation is the driver just like for all traditional forms of magazines and e-zines.

What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?

Nivedita : Just start writing, honestly, for yourself, not to impress; the rest will follow.
