Thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.
Priya : Am a South Indian, born and brought up in Pondicherry. A beautiful seashore city situated in Tamil Nadu. Being a Foodie, I love to cook experiment and try different dishes either from Regional or from International cuisine. Obviously all the dishes cooked and tasted from my small kitchen will get featured in my precious blog. All the recipes you can see in my space are loved and appreciated by everyone at home. My blog have more than +2700 recipes. I do post dishes from Indian to International cuisine however I’ll focus very much to my favorite South Indian cuisine, mostly with ancient and completely forgotten grains like millets.
What makes your blog so unique and why should people read it?
Priya : My blog is so unique where you can find many beautiful vegan, eggless bakes, definitely unique combination of dishes which i cooked and created by myself, some of my recipes are still not available even in google, yes most of my dishes are my own creations.
If you want to cook with millets, just go through my space, i have dished out many variety foods with them. I have a compilation of diabetic friendly recipes, kids friendly recipes, vegan friendly dishes and eggless bakes.
How often do you blog?
Priya : Earlier, I do blog twice a day, later coz of personal life, I restricted myself with a post a day. However now I have two blogs and try to keep posting at least daily or else 5posts a week.
What has been your most successful blog post to date and what was it about?
Priya : I have a huge list of most successful blog post, I can’t say particularly about a dish, my successful posts starts from a couple of vegetarian dishes, however my eggless and vegan bakes are the most viewed till today.
What do you find most challenging about blogging?
Priya : Most challenging about blogging is the food photography, earlier with a simple P&S I tried to click my posts, but later I invested myself to DSLR and now I’ll try to keep my pictures more attractive than my earlier days. Also I try to learn more about the templates and many more technical sides of this immense world.
What are some of your favorite author blogs and why?
Priya : My favorite authors list will go on just like that. Obviously I can’t say anyone particularly, even a young budding blogger takes much pain to establish her in this immense world, needless to say whoever enter into this virtual world needs a big applause for all the efforts each and everyone is trying to put in their own space.
What are your favorite books that you would recommend SIW family?
Priya : My favourite cookbooks are obviously tarla dalal’s definitely. When it comes to baking, I can’t give my Baking with Julia Child book to anyone for any reason, I treasure JUlia child’s book. Else I have couple of South Indian chef’s book which I never forget to add whenever I get a chance to buy here or in India.
What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?
Priya : If you love blogging, just go on.. Even if you are a novice, am sure this immense world will definitely teach you how to succeed in this virtual world. If you love to share your tried and tasted recipes through blogging, don’t hesitate a second and take a dive in this blogging world.
