Thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.
Sakshi : I’m a perfectly imperfect person who is comfortable under her own skin. I’m currently a student of computer science engineering. You would either find me reading a book with a cup of coffee or spending time in the nature while I’m awed by the beauty. I’m a stargazer, a dog lover, an amateur photographer and an aspiring traveler. I love meeting new people across the globe and strongly believe that each person hides a different world in itself which I want to explore. I hope to change the world one person at a time with my writing.
What makes your blog so unique and why should people read it?
Sakshi : My blog is a blend of poetry, fiction, romance, photography with self-help in the lead. I mostly write about everyday life which anybody can relate to. I try to write in a way which could inspire people and motivate them to achieve and live the life that they always have imagined.
How often do you blog?
Sakshi : I mostly blog around once or twice a week as time permits me but there are times when I have to go on short hiatus when college demands time from me and/or I’m stuck with exams and related activities.
What has been your most successful blog post to date and what was it about?
Sakshi : My most successful blog post has to be “An open letter to my father on his birthday”. It got the most positive feedback from users and won a spot in one of the best blog post of the year 2014 by Blogadda! It was gratitude and love filled letter to my father which I wrote on his birthday last year. I was moved to tears while writing it.
It is followed by “The inner beauty makeup tutorial” which is the most shared blog post of my blog. It is a parody of the YouTube makeup gurus and focuses on how inner beauty matters more than the outer one.
What do you find most challenging about blogging?
Sakshi : The most challenging aspect of blogging has to be time management. When you blog due to a passion or a hobby, it is difficult to take out time while other ‘life issues’ like family, relationships, school/college or work comes in the way.
Blogging is so much more than just writing and publishing a post. A lot goes behind that as well and it can be very time consuming and mentally exhausting.
What are your favorite books that you would recommend SIW family?
Sakshi : My favorite book has to be ‘Veronika decides to die’ by Paulo Coelho. It shows exactly how we only ‘survive’ life and not exactly live. As it is rightly said by someone, “Only dead goes with the flow.”
Can we really make a living by Blogging? If yes, how we can do that?
Sakshi : I blog because it’s my passion. I love connecting with people across the world and try to make a community. I love writing and wish to make a positive impact on the society with my words. As of now, I haven’t given a single thought to earn through my blog. I have no clue as of now.
What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?
Sakshi : I’m still a student who is still figuring out her place in this vast world.
For everyone, I would just like to say to always be optimistic and be confident. Everything will make sense later on, just believe in yourself and go live the life you always wanted to live.
