Thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.
SREEDEVI : Thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to feature on this excellent site. I am so happy to be here. I am Sreedevi jayadev, born and bought up in Kerala, Trivandrum, now settled in Sharjah with my husband and 2 kids.
I am a happy housewife who loves to cook and bake. I would like to try new, different dishes. I got lots of encouragement from my husband, family members and friends. I used to click photographs of my dishes. Then i taught to share them with my Facebook friends. Many of them asked recipes from me. They supported and forced me to start a page/ blog. Thus created Sree’s kitchen with tried, tested and succeed recipes with pictures.
What makes your blog so unique and why should people read it?
SREEDEVI : My blog is all about a collection of simple dishes for people who loves to cook and for those who like to try variety in cooking. I think it will be an inspiration for new comers.
How often do you blog?
SREEDEVI : As I have just started only, so I used to post at least 1 recipe a day.
What has been your most successful blog post to date and what was it about?
SREEDEVI : My most successful recipe includes coconut laddoo, chocolate cake, fish cutlet, Kerala feast and other naadan dishes (memories which takes us back to hometown).
What do you find most challenging about blogging?
SREEDEVI : As I am so much interested in this, I find morning time for blogging as my daughter will left to school and nap time for my baby. By afternoon, I will be back to my kitchen, household work and with my family.
What are some of your favorite author blogs and why?
SREEDEVI : My favorite author is
Stephanie Jaworski who is a blogger of Joy of baking.com. Usually I follow her mainly in baking and decorating cakes. The way she presents and her recipes admired me in many ways.
What are your favorite books that you would recommend SIW family?
SREEDEVI : Usually I’ll go through all cooking books, whatever it is to refer new recipes and ideas. As there are so many books available now a day, ‘The absolute beginner’s cookbook’ by Jackie Eddy is recommended.
Can we really make a living by Blogging? If yes, how we can do that?
SREEDEVI : I think so, we have to know our readers taste and new trends also. May be it takes time for a new blogger like me. Still far to go.
What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?
SREEDEVI : Try till your goal is achieved. Learn from your faults. Never give down. Be positive. Go ahead.
