Thanks for taking the time to chat with SIW. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.     

Vasantha : Hi, Thank you SIW, for the interview. I am a happy woman, daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher, friend, mentor, seeker, lover.  I am from Kovilpatti, a small town of southern Tamilnadu in India…

I am a teacher by profession. I was a professor at an Engineering College for nearly 15 years. I learnt a lot as a teacher and hope I have inspired some hearts during this period. Now I am a supporting wife and a happy mother. Teaching is my passion, reading is my love and cooking is my heart.  Now I started writing also – My Sweet Nothings.

What makes your blog so unique and why should people read it?          

Vasantha : My blog name My Sweet Nothings says that all. As the tagline rightly informs the reader that I blog everything that lingers in my mind. It is a personal blog mainly discussing about Relationship, Family, Parenting, and Travel. I hope the Daily Tips section is unique about my blog. Also I love to spread the Indian Culture and Tradition to the world through Spiritual Friday’s section. I enjoyed the posts of title This Mom’s Life – An interview type guest posts from my blogger mother friends.  So as a whole, my blog is my heart -thoughts freely flowing.

How often do you blog?              

Vasantha : Mostly daily since I have to post Daily Tips. I schedule the post promptly that it should miss its date. I am happy to share with you that last March 2015, I successfully completed one month blogging marathon by posting 30 posts without a miss.

What do you find most challenging about blogging?     

Vasantha : I find nothing serious as challenge in blogging. I usually pen down my thoughts, feelings, interests, moods, achievements, fights, and everything in a diary. Later I will convert those scribbles into meaningful posts.

Can we really make a living by Blogging? If yes, how we can do that?

Vasantha : Yes. One can make a living by Blogging. But it takes time and effort. I started blogging because I wanted to share my thoughts with the reader. And I am sincere in my work. So I hope making a living by blogging is not so far.

What advice would you give to young women readers of SIW who want to follow a similar career path as you?              

Vasantha : Follow your heart  and work hard. Do what makes you happy.  Enjoy your life and spread happiness.
